Look around you, and you’ll notice that just about everyone these days has their faces glued to their mobile phone screens. Guess what they’re all checking?
If you said, “Social media!”… you’d be absolutely right.
We’re hooked to these social media platforms and can’t get enough of them.

Attention is the currency on social media. He/she who gets the most attention wins. Facebook pages, Facebook groups, Instagram pages, influencers, marketers, companies and many other social media entities crave engagement.

Growing a following and building a tribe organically takes time. So marketers and influencers tend to buy engagement. While this is frowned upon by the platforms, it still exists. It’s not illegal, and some might even say it’s necessary to gain traction. People are sheep and are waiting to follow the herd.
For example, if there are 2 Facebook pages on gardening and one has 237 followers while the other has 5,212 followers – which page would you follow?
